Software-Hardware Integration

Duration: 250 hours – full time or part time considered   Data Image Group Ltd is a creative print company that designs and produces eye-catching displays for shops, events, exhibitions, and interiors.  They are looking for a curious and motivated intern to join them on a live digital project that combines coding, hardware, and sustainability. You’ll help them track how much energy each machine uses and calculate the carbon footprint of each product they make. This is a great chance to apply your technical skills to a real-world challenge and make a positive environmental impact. What You’ll Be Doing: 

• Support with the set-up sensors on machines to measure energy use. 
• Write Python code to collect and analyse data minute-by-minute. 
• Work with the internal platform to connect devices and improve how data is used. 
• Help calculate the carbon footprint of different jobs and suggest ways to save energy. 
• Collaborate with the developer and Managing Director to improve the system and meet sustainability goals. 

What We’re Looking For: 

• Studying or recently graduated in Computer Science, Engineering, Mechatronics, Data Science, or Environmental Technology. 
• You enjoy coding (especially in Python) and working with hardware like Raspberry Pi. 
• You’re interested in sustainability and want to learn how tech can help reduce carbon emissions. 
• A good communicator and enjoy working in a small, focused team. 
• Organised, detail-oriented, and ready to take initiative.
