Technical Project Manager - Core Banking Integration

Sterling Williams are working alongside an International Bank looking to hire a hands-on, technical Project Manager on an 18-month FTC basis to support a changing core banking system. You will play a crucial role in overseeing and implementing complex technical integration projects e.g. digital platforms, GL, Payments and other 3rd party systems covering KYC/AML etc.

18 month Fixed Term Contract initially

Salary: £80,000 pa plus benefits

Full-Time; office based 4 days per week (West End of London)

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software development, system architecture, and project management and will be responsible for leading integration efforts.

  • Lead the integration stream for the core banking project, focusing on technical aspects.
  • Assist in the transition to new digital initiatives, ensuring a safe, secure, and risk-managed process.
  • Support project management activities in line with best practice methodologies to aid governance oversight.
  • Assist in the timely and successful delivery of project milestones with a focus on integration tasks, including system specification, documentation, process flows, validation of system build, data extraction, cleansing and migration, interface specification and testing, training, UAT, and cutover reconciliation.
  • Apply project management tools and techniques to support on-time delivery.
  • Develop project scopes and objectives involving relevant stakeholders.
  • Facilitate project delivery within agreed scope and regulatory expectations.
  • Maintain project plans and documentation.
  • Assist in managing changes in project scope, schedule, and costs.
  • Assess project risks, contribute to mitigation strategies, and manage RAID logs.
  • Ensure quality standards for technical requirements and project management.
  • Lead and manage technical integration projects from conception to completion
  • Develop and implement integration strategies and solutions
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and define project scope
  • Oversee the design, development, and testing of integration solutions

The successful candidate will have:

  • Experienced Technical Project Manager with industry experience within the Banking space
  • Good understanding of retail banking, payment services, and loan servicing operational processes.
  • Understanding of APIs and associated tools
  • Understanding of development project sprints
  • Team player with an agile mindset, strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, adaptable to different audiences and working styles.
  • Proactive, independent work style with strong organisational skills
