You will play a vital part in ensuring the smooth and secure running of critical systems within the facility, working within a shift-based team responsible for 24/7 operational coverage.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate and maintain site electrical systems in line with relevant regulations and standards
Complete scheduled preventative maintenance (PPM) tasks and respond to reactive maintenance issues
Diagnose and escalate faults across HVAC and electrical infrastructure
Operate and troubleshoot key building services systems including:
UPS systems and static switches
Generators and controls
BMS, lighting controls, and emergency lighting
Air conditioning systems (VAVs, FCUs, AHUs, split systems)
Single and three-phase motors
Fire detection and suppression systems
Install and modify electrical systems where required
Maintain accurate records and update systems including PPM software
Communicate clearly with the Shift Supervisor on all plant status, works in progress, and site issues
Adhere to strict site safety and housekeeping protocols
Electrical trade qualification (City & Guilds or equivalent)
18th Edition Wiring Regulations
Strong fault-finding and diagnostic ability across electrical and mechanical systems
Good understanding of critical building systems and data centre environments
HV Authorised Person or willingness to gain HVAP status
Previous experience in Building Services or Critical Environment roles
IT-literate with ability to use building management and maintenance systems
Confined space training (if required for site)
First Aid training
Experience working with water treatment systems, VSDs, and controls
Recognised apprenticeship or formal training route
Technically competent and proactive with a strong sense of responsibility
Able to work independently and follow both verbal and written instructions
Reliable, punctual, and safety-focused
Willingness to undertake ongoing training and occasional travel for technical courses
Strong communication skills and a team player attitude
Work in a state-of-the-art data centre facility
