Contract Duration: Until 31 December 2025
Working Arrangement: 2-3 days on site (Hybrid)
Day Rate: £446 (Inside IR35)
We are seeking an experienced Data Modeller / Architect to play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering enterprise data solutions within a leading financial services environment. The successful candidate will design, implement, and optimise data architectures that underpin business intelligence, regulatory reporting, and capital markets operations.
You will work closely with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure data models and frameworks are robust, scalable, and aligned with both business and regulatory requirements.
Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and Development
Design and implement enterprise data architecture, including conceptual, logical, and physical data models for capital markets operations and analytics.
Develop scalable, high-performance data solutions to support global business functions.
Data Governance & Quality
Establish and maintain data governance frameworks, lineage documentation, and quality assurance processes.
Ensure the accuracy, consistency, and security of financial and market data.
Technology Selection
Evaluate and recommend appropriate data technologies, tools, and cloud platforms to support advanced analytics and data management.
Data Integration
Define strategies for integrating diverse data sources across systems and functions, ensuring consistency and interoperability.
Stakeholder Collaboration
Partner with data domain leads, business analysts, and technical teams to align data architecture with business objectives and strategic initiatives.
Regulatory Compliance
Ensure all data practices adhere to relevant financial regulations, industry standards, and internal risk frameworks.
Strategic Thinking
Develop and maintain a long-term data strategy and roadmap that supports the evolving needs of the organisation and capital markets landscape.
Technical Expertise
Extensive experience in data modelling, database design, and SQL.
Strong proficiency with data modelling tools and frameworks.
Knowledge of ETL tools and cloud data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
Experience with Python and Kafka (desirable).
Data Management
Proven background in designing and managing large-scale data warehousing solutions.
Strong understanding of data governance, data quality, and metadata management principles.
Capital Markets Knowledge
In-depth understanding of banking products, financial instruments, and capital markets operations.
Familiarity with risk management frameworks and regulatory data requirements.
Communication & Collaboration
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
Strong stakeholder management skills and experience working across global teams.
Leadership & Influence
Ability to provide technical leadership, mentor junior team members, and foster a collaborative, data-driven culture.
