PostgreSQL DBA (SC Cleared)

Duration: 6 months +
Location: London OR Bristol (3 days per week on site)
Rate: £650 - 740 per day (inside IR35)

Role:
- Design and deploy a new PostgreSQL instance tailored for performance, scalability, and reliability.
- Ensure best-practice configuration and robust security standards.
- Database Administration
- Manage and optimize the current PostgreSQL instance, including:
- Indexing strategy
- Storage management
- Query optimization
- General DBA maintenance and monitoring
- Troubleshoot performance issues and provide proactive improvements.
- Development Team Collaboration
- Partner with engineering teams to enhance database usage.
- Advise on query optimization, index creation, and schema considerations.
- Advocate for PostgreSQL best practices across projects.

Essential Skills & Experience
- Proven experience designing, deploying, and administering PostgreSQL environments.
- Strong knowledge of indexing, storage management, and performance tuning.
- Hands-on experience with query optimization techniques.
- Ability to collaborate closely with development teams to guide effective database usage.
- Solid understanding of typical DBA responsibilities in a production environment.
