Salary: Up to £83k + bonus + benefits

The Role
We're looking for a Senior Principal Software Engineer to provide technical leadership, shape engineering standards, and mentor a team of engineers. This senior role combines architectural oversight with hands-on contribution, driving best practice and innovation across our platforms.

What You'll Do

Lead development across complex projects and cross-functional teams

Define and promote engineering best practice across the SDLC

Guide architectural decisions to ensure scalability and sustainability

Champion adoption of modern tools and technologies

Mentor and coach engineers to support career growth

Contribute hands-on with clean, scalable code when required

Represent the Head of Software Engineering in decision-making forums

About You

Strong expertise in modern programming languages and frameworks

Proven experience in senior technical roles with architectural influence

Excellent problem-solving and stakeholder communication skills

Track record of mentoring engineers and leading by example

Degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent experience
