GCP Cloud Infrastructure Architect
We are seeking an experienced GCP Cloud Infrastructure Architect to design, implement, and manage cloud solutions as part of our digital transformation programme. The ideal candidate will have extensive expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP), along with strong experience in Kafka, BigQuery, data streaming, Kubernetes, databases, and DataOps in the cloud.
This role requires working closely with internal teams to deliver scalable, secure, and high-performance cloud infrastructure solutions tailored to a banking environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Cloud Strategy & Architecture: Design and implement robust, scalable, and secure GCP infrastructure solutions in line with business and regulatory requirements.

Infrastructure Deployment: Build and maintain cloud-based infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or Google Cloud Deployment Manager.

Data Management & Analytics: Architect and manage BigQuery and data streaming solutions to enable Real Time analytics and decision-making processes.

Application Deployment & Orchestration: Lead the deployment and management of containerised applications using Kubernetes, ensuring scalability and resilience.

DataOps & Automation: Implement DataOps best practices to optimise data pipelines, ensure data quality, and enhance automation across cloud environments.

Security & Compliance: Ensure all cloud solutions comply with financial services security standards and industry best practices, including identity and access management, data encryption, and regulatory compliance.
Experience:

Extensive experience as a Cloud Infrastructure Architect with a focus on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

Strong expertise in Kafka, BigQuery, data streaming, Kubernetes, databases, and DataOps.

Experience designing and implementing highly available and scalable cloud architectures in a regulated financial services environment.

Strong knowledge of cloud networking, security, identity & access management (IAM), and compliance best practices.

Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, Google Cloud Deployment Manager, or similar technologies.

Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and optimise cloud infrastructure performance.

Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across technical and non-technical teams.
