Salary: Circa 65k plus car allowance (salary negotiable depending on experience)

Our client:
Our client is a well-established and operationally complex organisation seeking an experienced Head of IT to lead and shape its technology strategy. This is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring technology supports business objectives, drives efficiency, and enables future growth.

Job Description / The role:
The Head of IT will be responsible for defining and delivering the organisation’s technology vision and strategy. Working closely with senior stakeholders, you will ensure alignment between IT and wider business goals, while driving innovation, operational excellence, and continuous improvement across all technology functions.
You will lead a multi-disciplinary IT team, oversee infrastructure and applications, and play a hands-on role in delivering projects, managing change, and supporting business-as-usual operations. This role also includes responsibility for data security, compliance, supplier management, and budget control.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and deliver the organisation’s IT strategy aligned to business objectives
  • Lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of technology solutions
  • Manage and mentor the IT team, fostering a high-performance and collaborative culture
  • Oversee IT infrastructure, applications, and cloud services
  • Drive operational efficiency and continuous improvement across IT services
  • Lead IT projects and programmes, ensuring delivery of fit-for-purpose solutions
  • Manage IT budgets (OPEX and CAPEX) and ensure cost-effective procurement
  • Maintain strong relationships with external suppliers and partners
  • Ensure robust cyber security practices and deliver staff awareness training
  • Oversee data protection, GDPR compliance, and risk management
  • Ensure all systems and processes are well documented and knowledge is shared
  • Provide regular reporting on IT performance and delivery
What we need from you:
  • Proven experience in a senior IT leadership role
  • Understanding of a strategic level position so understand the daily technical side but let the team look after that but look at site Security plans and the bigger picture not just the day-to-day of IT support.
  • Strong technical background across Microsoft technologies (Windows Server, O365, Exchange, SQL Server)
  • Experience with networks, cloud technologies, and cyber security
  • Demonstrable ability to translate business needs into technical solutions
  • Strong project and team management experience
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, operational environment
  • Ability to lead, motivate, and develop high-performing teams
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Degree (or equivalent) in an ICT-related discipline
  • CISM or equivalent certification
  • ITIL qualification
  • Strong influencing and negotiation skills
