Product Engineer

Product Engineer

Location: Oxford (On-site)

Salary: from £55,000 depending on experience

Type: Full-time

Hi, we're Super Benji!

We're Oxford's fastest-growing AI startup, almost 2 years old and building a category-defining sales automation platform. We help businesses supercharge outbound sales by combining hyper-personalisation, AI, and a lot of human love, delivered through automation.

We've seen incredible traction with our initial product, and now we're looking to build a series of adjacent solutions to empower our clients to manage and optimise their outbound marketing. This is where you come in...

The opportunity

We're looking for a hands-on Product Engineer to drive our product forward using workflows, low-code tooling, and modern AI/automation capabilities.

You'll work at the intersection of product discovery, workflow engineering, and rapid prototyping, turning ideas into working features using tools like ActivePieces.com and Vibe coding. You'll explore new APIs, test emerging AI models, and integrate them into our product to deliver real customer value.

This is not a classic product owner or a pure engineering role — it's a hybrid builder role designed for someone who loves experimenting, integrating systems, and shipping fast.

What you'll work on

  • Translate product vision into practical workflows, prototypes, and features.
  • Build, improve, and maintain backend logic using automation tools (Make.com, similar).
  • Build front-end functionality using Vibe coding (or similar low-code systems).
  • Research emerging APIs, AI models, and automation tools, evaluating how they can be used to improve the product.
  • Rapidly test integrations and ship proof-of-concepts before productionising them.
  • Own the product backlog: break features into deliverables, estimate scope, map dependencies.
  • Work with the stakeholders to shape features, prioritise roadmap themes, and validate ideas.
  • Ensure workflows are clean, maintainable, and follow internal standards.
  • Manage integrations, webhooks, retries, rate limits, and API behaviours.
  • Monitor automations and resolve issues before they reach users.
  • Collaborate with UI/UX support to convert workflows into polished user experiences.

What you bring

  • Strong experience with automation or workflow platforms (Make.com, Zapier, n8n, Retool, Airtable Automations, or similar).
  • Comfortable working with APIs: reading docs, using webhooks, authenticating, sending/receiving JSON.
  • Experience in no-code/low-code environments such as Vibe coding, Bubble, Retool, Webflow Logic, etc.
  • Ability to translate high-level product direction into structured, buildable work.
  • Curiosity to explore new AI models (OpenAI, Anthropic, open-source), test them, and apply them in product features.
  • Analytical, resourceful mindset: you enjoy figuring things out, debugging issues, and experimenting.
  • Basic understanding of software concepts: versioning, environments, testing, error handling.
  • Good communication and documentation habits.

Nice to have

  • Experience in product discovery or working with founders to shape features.
  • Understanding of UX or ability to collaborate closely with designers.
  • Experience with monitoring automation systems, logging, or simple test automation.
  • Exposure to backend development or scripting (JavaScript/Python) when needed.
  • Experience working in small, fast-paced product teams.

What we offer

  • A central role in a fast-growing AI startup, working directly with the founding team.
  • Direct reporting line to the CTO with real influence on product and architecture.
  • High ownership - what you build will ship quickly and visibly.
  • An environment where experimentation and exploration are encouraged.
  • On-site collaboration in Oxford with a small, focused, highly-driven team.
  • Competitive compensation with room to grow as we scale and potential for share options.
