Supply Desk is currently seeking a dynamic and forward-thinking Computer Science Teacher to join a progressive and well-resourced secondary school in Hemel Hempstead. This full-time position is available from September and offers an exciting opportunity to engage students in one of the most in-demand and future-focused subjects in education.

Job Description:
- Plan and deliver high-quality Computer Science lessons across KS3 and KS4, with the opportunity to teach KS5 depending on experience.
- Develop engaging schemes of work that incorporate a variety of programming languages, digital literacy, and computer systems knowledge.
- Foster curiosity, problem-solving skills, and a love for technology in students of all abilities.
- Use data and assessment tools to monitor student progress and tailor lessons to meet individual learning needs.
- Create a classroom culture of high expectations, positive behaviour, and mutual respect.
- Stay current with technological developments and integrate them into the curriculum where appropriate.
- Support students in developing critical digital skills relevant for modern academic and professional environments.
- Contribute to whole school development, departmental planning, and extracurricular ICT or coding clubs where possible.
- Uphold school safeguarding policies and ensure a safe, inclusive learning environment.
Our ideal candidate will:
- Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and have experience teaching Computer Science in UK secondary schools.
- Be confident delivering curriculum content across Key Stages 3 and 4 (KS5 is a plus).
- Demonstrate passion for technology and digital education, with an innovative approach to teaching.
- Possess strong knowledge of programming (e.g., Python, JavaScript), computer systems, algorithms, and data structures.
- Be an excellent communicator with the ability to motivate and inspire students of all backgrounds and abilities.
- Maintain excellent classroom management and build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
- Be proactive, reflective, and open to continuous professional development.
- Hold or be willing to obtain a clear DBS check (Disclosure and Barring Service).
- Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
