About the role We're looking for a tech-savvy problem-solver to keep our People systems running smoothly; from Sage People to our intranet, ticketing, learning and survey tools. You'll troubleshoot issues fast, keep data clean, test and roll out new features, and spot opportunities to streamline and help us make the most of our People Team tech. You'll also lead on system enhancements, support key projects, and introduce smarter tools (including AI) that make processes slicker and the employee experience better.Key Responsibilities (Not exhaustive)

  • Manage day-to-day BAU activity across all People systems and troubleshooting issues promptly.
  • Act as a key escalation point for system queries, providing effective troubleshooting, rootcause analysis and actionable solutions
  • Configure, maintain, and optimise the Sage People platform, ensuring data integrity, system security, and adherence to governance and compliance standards.
  • Partner with third-party providers (e.g. Sage People support and platform partners) to escalate and resolve complex system issues.
  • Maintain high data accuracy through regular audits, cleansing activity, and strong data governance practices in collaboration with People Hub and wider People team colleagues.
  • Support release cycles by testing new features, validating system changes, coordinating updates, and managing the controlled rollout of releases.
  • Maintain clear and up to date system documentation, user guidance, and resources to build digital capability across the organisation.
  • Collaborate with the Tech team to support downstream data connections and integrations.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline processes, enhance workflows, reduce manual effort, and improve the user experience.
  • For agreed BAU changes, update and refine system configuration, including objects, fields, workflows, validation rules, approvals, alerts, and automation.
  • Own the tech element in allocated People Team projects, including bulk data updates, platform enhancements, integrations, new feature adoption, optimisation initiatives, and the introduction of new tools and technologies that streamline processes and improve user experience.
  • Apply and identify AI-enabled tools and automation to optimise People systems, enhancing reporting, data accuracy, workflows, and the employee and manager experience.
  • Develop accessible training and guidance, both on demand and in person to build digital capability, ensuring our People systems are used effectively and confidently.

Background & Experience

  • Demonstrable hands-on experience administering and configuring the Sage People platform, including supporting BAU, troubleshooting, and contributing to system improvements.
  • Strong understanding of core HR processes and the ability to translate business requirements into effective and scalable system configuration.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail when working with data, workflows, and system logic.
  • Confident collaborating with stakeholders across HR, IT, Payroll, and the wider business, with the ability to explain technical concepts in a clear and approachable way.
