Digital Product Specialist
Job summary
Working as a Product specialist you will be part of the EHR team developing successful digital solutions across the trusts EHR estate. The post holder will:
- Develop solutions based on evidence of user needs and organisational outcomes.
- Work with the team to develop design ideas and improvements.
- Prototype design ideas in various methods including configuration in the demo environment.
- Interpret evidence-based research and include it in their work.
- Support the values and standards of inclusive and accessible design.
You should have, or be developing, an awareness of lean and agile methods and using a shared toolkit of techniques, processes and systems. You will be expected to be flexible and will be comfortable working on different projects and services as business priorities and demands change.

The Trust's strategic focus is on creating a digital environment that simplifies processes, enhances collaboration, and ensures that staff can focus on delivering high-quality care without being burdened by unnecessary administrative tasks or inefficient systems.
Our Electronic Health Record (EHR) support services within the Digital division are aligned to establish a more integrated team to improve collaboration and communication between the EHR facing teams and as a result improving the quality of support provided to our frontline staff.
A Digital Project Management Office (PMO) has been introduced to better manage the numerous, complex projects that are ongoing within the division and support the effective delivery of digital projects and programmes and digital workstreams in Trust projects and programmes.

Key Responsibilities:
- Support the delivery of digital products by contributing to solution design, configuration, and testing
- Work closely with colleagues and stakeholders to understand problems and propose improvements
- Contribute to user-centred design sessions, helping shape ideas into practical outputs
- Configure elements within our digital systems (including but not limited to EHRs) to meet agreed specifications
- Help document and refine requirements, using a mix of verbal, written, and visual communication techniques
- Work across multiple projects, managing your workload to meet competing priorities
- Maintain a strong understanding of how digital tools affect clinical and operational workflows
- Share ideas, learn from others, and actively contribute to a positive and inclusive team culture
- Keep up to date with developments in health technology and bring fresh thinking into the team
Person Specification
Qualifications
- Degree level education or equivalent relevant experience
- Qualification or equivalent experience demonstrating proficiency in clinical systems (especially SystmOne e.g. Train the Trainer)
- Evidence of continued professional development
Experience
- Significant knowledge of Electronic Health Records, especially SystmOne
- Knowledge and recent experience of SystmOne or associated clinical systems, and related processes used in an NHS setting
- Knowledge and recent experience of delivering fit for purpose SystmOne (or other EHR) solutions with demonstrable benefit
- Demonstrable experience delivering high quality, complex configuration in a clinical system, specifically regarding the creation of templates, questionaires, visualisations, rotas, protocols, configured lists, and general configuration e.g. Clinical Trees
- Demonstrable experience of working across multiple clinical systems
- Demonstrable experience in working with wider digital health products e.g. Electronic Referral Service, Electronic Prescribing and Medicines Administration, SMS clients, open data
