Mandatory Training and Systems Officer
Job summary
As the Trust's MyLearning Lead, you will take ownership of the day-to-day operation and ongoing development of the Trust's MyLearning Totara Learning Management System (LMS), ensuring it remains fit for purpose and supports statutory/mandatory training compliance. Working under the guidance of the Education and Training Manager, you will lead on system improvements and upgrades, provide expert advice and user support, and work with internal subject matter experts and external partners to develop and maintain Trust-approved learning programmes. A key part of the role is producing high-quality compliance reporting and insight--using tools such as Excel--to identify trends, highlight risk and progress, and present updates to Trust forums. You will also help deliver workshops and accessible learning solutions, supporting learners with additional needs, and provide day-to-day coordination and development support to the LMS team.
Main duties of the job
Lead the day-to-day operation and ongoing development of the Trust's MyLearning (Totara) Learning Management System (LMS), ensuring it remains fit for purpose and supports statutory/mandatory training compliance.
Plan, deliver and support system improvements and upgrades, including testing and working with external partners (e.g., Think Associates) to enhance functionality and performance.
Produce accurate compliance reporting and insight by extracting and analysing data (including advanced Excel), identifying trends/risks and supporting Trust breakthrough objectives.
Present findings and progress updates to Trust forums and stakeholders, providing clear written reports and recommendations.
Provide expert advice, guidance and user support on MyLearning to staff and services, enabling access to compliance information and supporting personal development.
Work with subject matter experts (SMEs) to develop, upload and maintain Trust-approved training programmes and learning content within the LMS.
Deliver MyLearning training and workshops (1:1 and group), promoting accessibility and supporting learners with additional needs or barriers to learning.
Provide day-to-day coordination, delegation and development support to the LMS support team, contributing to Education and Training initiatives as required.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Educated to/demonstrating working at a subject relevant diploma (level 3 - 5) qualification or demonstrable training experience.
- Maths and English qualifications - Functional Skills Level 2/GCSE grade 4-9 (A-C) or equivalent
- Business Administration (level 3)
- CIPD qualification in Learning and Development
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
- Specialist knowledge across online learning environments
- Experience of providing information, advice and guidance where sensitive or contentious to individuals or groups
- Specialist knowledge and expertise of Education and Training specific Learning Management Systems such as Totara and NHS platforms such as OLM and ES
- Preparing and taking of minutes
- Project monitoring and overall responsibility of Trust training applications
- Experience in creating Education and Training Teaching plans to cater for a variety of audiences.
- Experience of teaching groups of learners
