The advanced business intelligence analyst roles offer candidates the opportunity to create analytical outputs including interactive dashboards and modelled output along with other advanced analytics including AI to answer real world problems that NHS services are currently facing.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Main duties of the job

The role offers the opportunity to work with stakeholders in order to design, develop, implement and maintain dashboards and other analytical output used within the organisation. There will also be opportunities to work with others in order to create advanced data models using traditional and emergency techniques and technologies in order to answer complex healthcare questions.

It is essential that the post holder has good knowledge of data warehousing and SQL as well as experience and knowledge of developing dashboards and reports within Power BI.

Qualifications and Knowledge

Essential
  • Educated to Masters Level or equivalent experience
  • Evidence of continuous professional development
  • Highly skilled in using QLIK Sense, Power BI, PowerPoint, Excel and Word
  • Extensive understanding of strategic informatics issues within the healthcare environment and current priorities for NHS Wales.
  • Extensive understanding of clinical and non-clinical informatics processes.
  • Knowledge of information requirements and standards.

Experience

Essential
  • Significant experience within a Health Informatics environment
  • Significant experience of using complex Business Intelligence tools to triangulated information from various sources within an information environment
  • Significant experience of statistical analysis of highly complex information
  • Significant experience of using a structured project management approach to deliver projects within timescales
  • Significant experience of communicating complex issues and data concepts to a range of people.
  • Significant Experience in working with Clinical staff to be able to provide insights from the analysis.
  • Significant experience and understanding of Population Health, Value Based Healthcare, Prudent Healthcare and its application within NHS Wales
  • Significant experience of various development methodologies to be able to develop visual analytic dashboards for the triangulation and simplistic presentation of information.

  • Advanced IT and analytical skills with an advanced knowledge of IT tools/systems such as SQL, data cubes, QlikView and web development tools and languages.
