Contract BI Analyst (Power BI)
Contract BI Analyst (Power BI) | Midlands | £450 to £550 per day | Outside IR35 | 6 months | Immediate start
A third party logistics business is putting Power BI straight onto its warehouse management system at a large eLogistics site in the Midlands, and needs a contractor who can start now. We are interviewing this week.
THE JOB IN ONE PARAGRAPH
The site runs at volume and the leadership team currently has almost no visibility of it. You will connect Power BI to the WMS database and build the daily despatch and pick rate reporting the operation has been missing, working directly with the people who run the shift rather than through three layers of governance. This is a build, not a maintenance role. Whoever takes it will own the reporting layer from a blank sheet and will see it used on the floor within weeks.
WHAT WE NEED TO SEE
- Strong Power BI, including DAX and data modelling, not just report authoring.
- SQL good enough to work directly against an operational database.
- Warehouse, logistics, fulfilment or distribution data experience. WMS exposure (Manhattan, Blue Yonder, Korber, SAP EWM, Infor or similar) is a real advantage.
- Comfortable turning a vague operational question into a working dashboard without a business analyst in the middle.
USEFUL BUT NOT ESSENTIAL
Experience of despatch, pick rate, inventory accuracy or labour productivity reporting. Previous 3PL or high volume distribution work.
THE PRACTICAL DETAIL
£450+ per day, outside IR35.
Six months, with genuine scope to extend.
On site five days a week at a Midlands site, easily commutable from Coventry, Birmingham, Leicester and Northampton. This one is not hybrid, and the reason is that the value is in sitting next to the operation.
Immediate start, so we are prioritising people who are available now or on short notice.
