Data Engineer (Defence Tech)
A growing defence-tech consultancy is seeking Data Engineers of various levels and disciplines to build robust, scalable data platforms for defence clients.
They are deliberately setting a very high bar, hiring engineers from top universities who are among the strongest technically in their field. The work is very problem-solving focused, small teams tackling complex systems, often working on completely new challenges every few months.
You'll genuinely be working alongside some of the best engineers/teams in the country, solving problems no one else has before.

Data Engineer Role
The successful candidate will design and maintain data pipelines and systems that support analytics and operational use cases.
Data Engineer Responsibilities include:
- Building data pipelines and data-intensive applications
- Developing in Python and SQL
- Working with distributed systems (e.g. Spark, Databricks)
- Managing data orchestration (e.g. Airflow)
- Ensuring data quality, reliability, and performance
Data Engineer Requirements
- Strong data engineering experience
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure or GCP)
- Experience with modern data tooling and frameworks
Additional Criteria
- STEM Degree from a leading university (2:1 or above)
- Eligibility for UK SC-level security clearance
- Experience in defence or highly regulated environments is advantageous, but not required
