Embedded Engineer (Defence Tech)
A growing defence-tech consultancy is seeking Embedded Engineers of various levels and disciplines to develop high-performance systems in constrained and mission-critical environments.
They are deliberately setting a very high bar, hiring engineers from top universities who are among the strongest technically in their field. The work is very problem-solving focused, small teams tackling complex systems, often working on completely new challenges every few months.
You'll genuinely be working alongside some of the best engineers/teams in the country, solving problems no one else has before.

Embedded Engineer Role
Engineers will work on low-level systems, contributing to performance-critical and safety-sensitive applications.
Embedded Engineer Responsibilities include:
- Developing software in C, C++ or Rust
- Working with embedded and real-time systems
- Interfacing with hardware (SPI, I2C, UART, CAN bus)
- Building and optimising high-performance or low-latency systems
- Applying high-assurance engineering practices
- Working with RTOS and low-level toolchains
Embedded Engineer Requirements
- Strong experience in low-level or embedded development
- Understanding of performance optimisation and system constraints
- Experience with Linux or similar environments
Additional Criteria
- Degree in Computer Science, Electronics, or similar from a leading university
- Eligibility for UK SC-level security clearance
- Experience in safety-critical or defence systems is advantageous but not required
