Embedded Engineer (Defence Tech)

A growing defence-tech consultancy is seeking Embedded Engineers of various levels and disciplines to develop high-performance systems in constrained and mission-critical environments.

They are deliberately setting a very high bar, hiring engineers from top universities who are among the strongest technically in their field. The work is very problem-solving focused, small teams tackling complex systems, often working on completely new challenges every few months.

You'll genuinely be working alongside some of the best engineers/teams in the country, solving problems no one else has before.

They’re hiring for, and value, people who:

  • Enjoy working on challenging systems
  • Truly understand problem-solving principles
  • Enjoy variety
  • Are adaptable and articulate

  • Working with embedded and real-time systems
  • Interfacing with hardware (SPI, I2C, UART, CAN bus)
  • Building and optimising high-performance or low-latency systems
  • Applying high-assurance engineering practices
  • Working with RTOS and low-level toolchains

Embedded Engineer Requirements

  • Strong experience in low-level or embedded development
  • Understanding of performance optimisation and system constraints
  • Experience with Linux or similar environments

Additional Criteria

  • Degree in Computer Science, Electronics, or similar from a leading university
  • Eligibility for UK SC-level security clearance
  • Experience in safety-critical or defence systems is advantageous but not required
