Location: Banbury - Hybrid working (2 days p/w)

SwitchTT are exclusively partnered with a growing UK tech company that's building smart digital products for the public sector from traffic systems to incident management. They've just expanded through a recent acquisition, adding even more capability to their platform.

They are seeking a Java Technical Lead to play a key role in shaping technical direction, leading the team, contributing to strategic decisions, and building greenfield products from the ground up.

The Role:

• Take ownership of a core transformation project, rearchitecting and rebuilding one of the companys flagship products, ensuring zero customer downtime
• Lead and mentor a team of 4 software engineers and a product manager, ensuring a positive and high-performing engineering culture.
• Lead from the front as a hands-on engineer alongside leadership responsibilities

Java Technical Lead requirements:

• Strong coding skills in Java (ideally with Spring Boot or Micronaut) and JavaScript/TypeScript
• Comfortable working with complex legacy systems and improving existing codebases
• Skilled at mentoring and motivating team members while building a positive, growth-focused culture
• Confident in making technical decisions and contributing to the evolution of a simpler, future-ready architecture
