Position overview
SymphoMe is seeking a highly skilled and innovative AI Music Research Engineer to join our team. You will be implementing advanced solutions to upgrade our AI automatic assessment. Your role will be pivotal in shaping the future of music education through technology. The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge in Music Information Retrieval (MIR), AI frameworks and a passion for music.
Key requirements
- Relevant experience, either:
- A PhD in Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Music Technology, Music Information Retrieval, or a related field,
- Or a Master's degree in one of these fields with 2+ years of hands-on professional and/or research experience in AI/ML or related technical fields applied to audio/music.
- Extensive hands-on experience in designing innovative AI/ML model architectures, training models from scratch, modify pre-trained model architectures, retrain, and incorporate methodologies, layers and structures from research papers.
- Up-to-date knowledge of the latest AI/ML advancements, including current scientific literature, tools, models, and best practices.
- Proficiency in Python, with a deep familiarity and fluency in coding, including expertise with ML frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow) and relevant Python libraries.
- Strong communication, teamwork and a proactive mindset.
Responsibilities
- Design and build state-of-the-art AI/ML models.
- Maintaining and updating the commercial product.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest research in AI/ML for music/audio.
- Collaborate with the back-end and front-end teams.
- Occasionally attend relevant events, such as international conferences and workshops, and contribute to research publications.
Nice to have
- Evidence of original research contributions in Music Information Retrieval, Music Technology, or related areas, demonstrated through publications in top conferences within the field (e.g., ISMIR, ICASSP, NeurIPS, etc.) and/or journals.
- Experience with cloud platforms, such as Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, AWS.
