Presales Lead - Data Modernisation & Data Platforms

We’re hiring a Presales Lead – Data Modernisation & Data Platforms for a global IT service provider based in the Uk/ Amsterdam/ Germany

Lead presales and solutioning for large-scale data modernisation and data platform transformation deals across the Americas

Own the end-to-end solution strategy for data warehouse modernisation, data platforms, and governance, combining deep technical expertise (Databricks, Snowflake, GCP) with strong business storytelling to win strategic deals.

15–20+ years in Data & Analytics with strong presales experience.

Key Responsibilities

1. Deal Leadership & Presales Ownership

  • Lead end-to-end presales for data modernisation opportunities (RFPs, proactive deals, strategic pursuits).
  • Shape large, multi-year transformation deals (Data Warehouse → Lakehouse → AI-ready platforms).
  • Own solution design, costing, and commercial articulation.
  • Partner with sales to convert pipeline into wins.

2. Data Modernisation Solutioning

  • Define architectures for legacy DW modernisation (Oracle, Teradata, Netezza → Snowflake / Databricks / BigQuery).
  • Drive lakehouse and data platform transformation strategies.
  • Lead code conversion, re-platforming, and optimisation approaches.
  • Leverage AI-assisted modernisation techniques.

3. Data Governance & Enterprise Data Strategy

  • Design governance frameworks (quality, lineage, catalog, privacy).
  • Implement domain-driven data products and architectures.
  • Integrate governance with modern platforms (Unity Catalog, Snowflake governance, GCP Dataplex).

4. Platform Expertise & Architecture Leadership

  • Deep expertise in Databricks, Snowflake, and GCP (BigQuery, Dataproc, Dataflow).
  • Define reference architectures and accelerators.
  • Guide platform strategy (multi-cloud vs single-cloud).

5. Thought Leadership & Market Positioning

  • Publish POVs, whitepapers, and solution frameworks.
  • Lead client workshops and executive sessions.
  • Translate trends into enterprise solutions (Lakehouse, Data + AI, FinOps).

6. Client Advisory

  • Engage with CIO/CDO/CTO stakeholders.
  • Advise on strategy, migration approaches, and ROI.
  • Lead architecture deep dives and solution walkthroughs.

7. Collaboration & Capability Building

  • Work with delivery and partner teams to industrialise solutions.
  • Build reusable assets and accelerators.
  • Mentor presales and architecture teams.

Required Skils & Experience

  • 15–20+ years in Data & Analytics with strong presales experience.
  • Track record of winning large transformation deals ($5M–$50M+).
  • Expertise in data warehouse modernisation and lakehouse architectures.
  • Hands-on exposure to Databricks, Snowflake, and GCP.
  • Experience with legacy systems (Oracle, Teradata, ETL tools).
  • Strong ability to translate architecture into business value.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in consulting or system integrators.
  • Exposure to AI/ML integration with data platforms.
  • Certifications in Databricks, Snowflake, or GCP.
