About the Role

We are looking for an experienced API Standards Lead to drive the definition, enhancement, and adoption of enterprise‐wide API standards. You will work closely with engineering, product, and platform teams to ensure API delivery is consistent, secure, and aligned with organizational controls.

This role sits within a newly formed Developer Experience (DevX) – Standards & Controls function, focusing on improving how development teams interact with technology controls and API policies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own, refine, and enhance API standards and controls across the organization.
  • Partner with engineering and cross‐functional stakeholders to understand challenges and improve adoption.
  • Lead product planning, prioritization, and roadmap activities for API standards and related tooling.
  • Run customer forums, gather feedback, and ensure a seamless developer experience.
  • Communicate a clear future vision for API standards and guide teams through transitions.
  • Use data and metrics to understand API usage and drive continuous improvements.
  • Champion customer‐centric decision‐making for all API standards work.

What We Are Looking For (Must‐Have)

  • Strong experience defining and implementing technical standards and controls.
  • Deep technical understanding of APIs, API development, and design principles.
  • Proven ability to lead, influence, and guide engineering teams.
  • Experience coordinating multiple workstreams and shaping strategic direction.
  • Background working in technology control environments.
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management, and collaboration skills.

Skills & Experience:

  • Development team leadership experience
  • Product ownership, product planning, roadmap planning
  • Experience of working in a control environment or with Technology controls
  • Experience in working within an global organization and globally distributed development teams
  • Communicating ideas, views, and concerns effectively and respectfully and actively participates in exchanges of ideas with others Ability to develop effective networks by seeking out opportunities for collaboration

Nice-to-Have

  • Hands‐on API development experience or having worked in API‐focused teams.
  • Knowledge of inventory/asset management.
  • Product ownership or platform product management experience.
