IT Administrator

Overview

We are seeking a DV-cleared IT Administrator to support the operation and assurance of a secure infrastructure environment aligned with FCAS (Future Combat Air System) cyber requirements and Air Sector security standards.

This role is hands-on and operational, working at the heart of a highly secure, mission-critical environment to ensure systems remain compliant, resilient, and ready for use.

Key Responsibilities

Access, Network & Security Controls

  • Validate and maintain user and administrative access controls, ensuring least-privilege principles are enforced.
  • Review and validate Firewall and IDS/IPS rules, ensuring secure configuration and effective threat protection.
  • Support secure configuration and ongoing compliance of infrastructure components.

Patch Management & Vulnerability Management

  • Schedule, apply, and validate security patches across infrastructure environments.
  • Run and support vulnerability scanning, validating results and supporting remediation activities.
  • Track patching status and provide evidence to support assurance and accreditation activities.

Resilience, Backup & Recovery

  • Test and validate backup and restore procedures to ensure data integrity and recoverability.
  • Validate and support disaster recovery plans, contributing to operational resilience and readiness.
  • Assist with recovery testing and assurance activities as required.

Documentation & Knowledge Transfer

  • Document all activities clearly to support knowledge transfer and operational continuity.
  • Package and manage all artefacts and deliverables for sharing with FCAS Security.
  • Support audits, assurance reviews, and working groups by providing accurate technical evidence.

Skills & Experience Required

  • Proven experience as an IT Administrator in secure or regulated environments.
  • Strong understanding of access control models, Firewall technologies, and IDS/IPS solutions.
  • Hands-on experience with patch management, vulnerability scanning, and remediation.
  • Experience supporting backup, recovery, and disaster recovery processes.
  • Strong documentation skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience in defence, aerospace, or similarly regulated sectors is highly desirable.

Security Clearance

  • DV clearance is mandatory and must be current and transferable.

3 days onsite, 2 days remote
