IT Change Management Manager (SC Cleared) | Greenfield Opportunity
Location: Reading (3 per week onsite)
Build an IT Change Function from the Ground Up
Synergize Consulting is supporting a major secure government programme and is looking for an experienced IT Change Management Manager to establish and lead a best-practice IT Change Management function within a complex, enterprise-scale technology environment.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys creating governance, designing processes and driving service maturity-not simply maintaining an existing function. You'll play a pivotal role in building a robust ITIL-aligned Change Management capability that supports critical technology services across a large-scale transformation programme.
Working alongside senior stakeholders, Service Management, Digital, Infrastructure and Project Delivery teams, you'll define how change is governed, controlled and continuously improved across the organisation.
What You'll Be Doing
- Design, implement and mature an enterprise IT Change Management function
- Develop ITIL-aligned Change Enablement policies, standards and governance
- Own the end-to-end Change Management life cycle
- Assess technical and business risks associated with proposed changes
- Chair and facilitate Change Advisory Board (CAB) meetings
- Coordinate change schedules across multiple technical teams and programmes
- Ensure changes are effectively communicated to business and technical stakeholders
- Lead Post Implementation Reviews (PIRs) and continual service improvement initiatives
- Develop KPIs, reporting dashboards and service metrics
- Drive Change Management maturity across the wider organisation
- Build strong relationships with Service Owners, Infrastructure, Projects and third-party suppliers
Essential Experience
We're looking for someone who has successfully built or significantly enhanced an IT Change Management capability within a complex enterprise environment.
You'll ideally have experience of:
- Designing and implementing ITIL Change Management processes
- Building Change Management functions within Greenfield or Transformation programmes
- ITIL Change Enablement best practice
- Running enterprise Change Advisory Boards (CAB)
- ServiceNow or other enterprise ITSM platforms
- Defining KPIs, SLAs and operational reporting
- Risk assessment and governance within large IT estates
- Working closely with Infrastructure, Networks, Applications and Service Operations teams
- Driving continual service improvement and service maturity.
Essential Requirements
- Active SC Security Clearance
- Sole UK National (No Dual Nationality)
- Experience working within secure Government or Defence environments
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- ITIL qualification (v4 preferred)
- Project Management qualification (PMP, PRINCE2 or equivalent desirable)
