Lead Enterprise Architect (Contract)

We are supporting a leading defence organisation seeking an experienced Lead Enterprise Architect to provide strategic and technical leadership across complex, secure programmes.

based in Reading - hybrid
Valid SC Clearance required

The Role

You will lead and govern enterprise architecture across multiple domains, shape architecture strategy for a Line of Business, and ensure secure-by-design principles are Embedded across programmes. The role includes chairing design reviews, influencing senior stakeholders, and mentoring architects across the organisation.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Senior-level enterprise architecture experience in Defence/Aerospace (MoD) environments

  • Proven delivery of large-scale, multi-domain architectures

  • Strong knowledge of TOGAF, MODAF/NAF, ArchiMate

  • Experience shaping enterprise-wide architecture strategies

  • Strong understanding of cyber security, secure system design, and compliance

  • Experience leading design reviews and architectural governance

  • Excellent leadership and stakeholder engagement skills

Desirable

  • Chartered Engineer or relevant architecture certifications

  • Experience contributing to architecture standards or industry forums

  • Familiarity with SFIA Level 7/DDaT Enterprise Architect expectations
