Lead Java Developer (financial) - CIAM/IAM | Northampton | Hybrid | Inside IR35

We are currently supporting a major enterprise-scale digital transformation programme within a highly regulated environment and are looking for an experienced Lead Java Developer with strong CIAM/IAM expertise to join a long-term engagement.

This is an excellent opportunity to work on large-scale customer identity and access management solutions within a complex, security-focused environment, contributing to the design and delivery of modern authentication and identity platforms.

Key Skills & Experience Required:

• Strong hands-on Java development background (Java 8+), ideally within banking
• Expertise with Spring Framework & Spring Boot
• Experience building scalable REST APIs and microservices
• Strong CIAM/IAM knowledge including:
  • OAuth2
  • OpenID Connect (OIDC)
  • SAML
  • Authentication & authorisation frameworks
• Experience with Kafka and event-driven architectures
• MongoDB/NoSQL database experience
• Docker & containerisation
• Kubernetes/Helm deployment experience
• Strong understanding of distributed systems and secure application design
• Experience working within Agile/DevOps environments and CI/CD pipelines
• Previous technical leadership or lead development experience

The role will involve leading development activities, contributing to architectural decisions, mentoring developers, and collaborating closely with security and DevOps teams to deliver scalable and secure identity solutions.
