SC Cleared 2nd/3rd line Windows Server Engineer

We are seeking an experienced SC Cleared Windows/IT Physical Server Support Engineer to join a secure, highly regulated defence-aligned environment. This role requires an individual operating at 2nd/3rd line level, supporting live infrastructure services across multiple secure sites.

*Due to the nature of the project, the successful candidates will hold an active SC clearance and have prior MOD experience or experience working within similarly regulated, security-conscious environments.

Location: This is a hybrid-based role, with regular access required to server sites in Birmingham and Loughborough (i t may suit someone locally based, around the Midlands with soem travel expenses covered). Travel to Corsham for a monthly team day will also be required.

The Role:

This is a traditional hands-on Windows and physical server support position within a live production environment. You will be responsible for maintaining, supporting, and occasionally installing core infrastructure hardware within secure server rooms.

Essential Experience:

• Installation and configuration of physical Servers and storage (HP ProLiant preferred)

• Windows Server build and administration

• Active Directory and Group Policy management

• Hands-on server room installation (racking, switching, hardware upgrades)

• 3rd line support within a live, customer-facing environment

• Writing and reviewing technical documentation to high standards

• Improving operational processes as services scale

Desirable Experience

• Tape backup solutions (Backup Exec preferred)

• Domain management and endpoint tooling (McAfee AV, SCCM, defence security tooling)
