SC Cleared Lead Node.js Developer
We are supporting a major digital transformation programme within the UK Public Sector and are seeking an experienced SC Cleared Lead Software Developer with strong Node.js expertise to join a high-performing agile delivery team.
This role will suit a hands-on technical lead with a passion for building secure, scalable services and leading engineering best practices within cloud-native environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop scalable Back End services using Node.js
- Build and maintain REST APIs and OpenAPI specifications
- Develop secure, resilient and maintainable microservices
- Work closely with stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions
- Mentor developers and drive engineering best practices
- Contribute to software architecture and technical design decisions
- Investigate and resolve production issues
- Promote clean coding principles, test automation and technical excellence
- Support CI/CD and cloud-native deployment pipelines
Essential Skills
- Active SC Clearance
- Strong commercial experience with Node.js
- REST API and OpenAPI development
- HAPI framework experience
- PostgreSQL
- MongoDB
- Redis
- Jest and unit testing frameworks
- Git version control
- Docker and Kubernetes
- AWS and/or Azure cloud platforms
- CI/CD using Azure DevOps, Jenkins or GitHub Actions
- Jira and Agile delivery environments
- Microservices architecture
- Secure development practices including OWASP awareness
Desirable
- Public Sector or Government project experience
