SC Cleared Service Design & Introduction Manager - Public Sector
We are seeking an SC Cleared Service Design & Introduction Manager to lead the design of complex, user-centred public sector services within a high-profile government programme.
This is a great opportunity for a senior Service Designer who thrives in large-scale transformation environments and wants to shape meaningful public services that impact thousands of users. You will play a critical role in driving end-to-end service design aligned to policy intent, operational reality, and technical feasibility.

Day-to-day duties may include:

Leading the end-to-end service design of complex public services aligned to user needs and policy outcomes

Designing inclusive, accessible services across digital and offline touchpoints

Mapping and analysing complex service ecosystems, identifying pain points, risks, and dependencies

Producing high-quality artefacts including service blueprints, journey maps, and system maps

Mapping as-is' processes using verified evidence to inform transformation

Facilitating stakeholder workshops and co-creation sessions

Collaborating across multidisciplinary teams (policy, operations, delivery, product, system design and UCD)

Supporting service strategies and transformation roadmaps

Advocating for user-centred design and GDS best practice

Mentoring junior designers and contributing to the wider design community

Ensuring services are scalable, sustainable, and designed for continuous improvement
Essential Experience:

Active SC Clearance
-
Extensive Public Sector and Government Digital Service (GDS) experience
-
Proven experience leading end-to-end service design in complex government environments

Strong understanding of service standards, accessibility, and inclusive design

Experience working within multidisciplinary agile delivery teams

Strong stakeholder engagement and workshop facilitation skills

Ability to map complex systems (digital and non-digital) and produce evidence-based as-is states

Experience aligning service design with organisational strategy and technical constraints
