Software Architect/Technical SME - Bid Support

Synergize Consulting is seeking an experienced Software Architect/Technical Subject Matter Expert to support a bid for a secure, data-intensive public sector application.

The requirement involves shaping the technical approach for re-architecting an existing .NET/C# application on a Windows stack into a thin user interface integrated with a data lake hosted in a secure AWS environment.

This opportunity would suit a senior architect who combines strong software engineering knowledge with the ability to explain technical choices clearly and contribute to a compelling bid response.

The role

• Advise on the proposed architecture and approach to modernising the existing application.

• Define how a thin UI layer can integrate securely with data lake services through APIs.

• Guide software design patterns, abstraction and separation of concerns.

• Advise on Real Time processing, distributed applications and messaging, including Kafka.

• Identify technical dependencies, delivery risks and architectural trade-offs.

• Contribute technical expertise to bid content, architecture discussions and reviews.

Essential experience

• Strong software architecture experience, including re-architecting or modernising existing applications.

• A solid background in .NET, C# and Windows-based applications.

• Strong understanding of software design patterns and API abstraction.

• Experience designing Real Time systems and distributed applications.

• Understanding of message brokers, particularly Kafka.

• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Desirable experience

• AWS architecture, particularly within secure environments.

• Data lake integration and data-intensive applications.

• Secure by design principles.

• Technical bid support and solution proposal development.

• Policing or Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) systems, including intelligence, querying or mapping capabilities.

Security clearance

Current SC clearance required.
