SAP Plant Maintenance (PM) Functional Consultant
Our client, a leading global technology consultancy, is expanding its SAP capability across the UK and Europe. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced SAP Plant Maintenance (PM) Functional Consultant to join a growing SAP practice and support the delivery of large-scale SAP ECC and S/4HANA transformation programmes across asset-intensive industries including manufacturing and public sector.
Location: UK Remote (virtual-first model) with occasional travel across the UK depending on project requirements.
**Please note: Due to the nature of the work, candidates must be sole British nationals, have lived and worked in the UK continuously for the past 5 years, and be willing to undergo SC Security vetting checks.
The role requires strong functional expertise in SAP Plant Maintenance, hands-on configuration capability, and the ability to engage across the full lifecycle of SAP programmes — from requirements gathering and solution design through to implementation, testing, and go-live support.
What you will be doing:
- Acting as the SAP Plant Maintenance subject matter expert across project delivery and enhancements
- Analysing business processes related to maintenance planning, work orders, notifications, and equipment management
- Configuring SAP PM functionality within ECC or S/4HANA environments
- Producing key deliverables including functional specifications, blueprints, test scripts, and user documentation
- Supporting data migration activities relating to maintenance master data and asset structures
- Collaborating with functional, technical, and data teams to ensure integrated SAP solution delivery
- Supporting the full project lifecycle, including design, build, testing, deployment, and hypercare
- Engaging with client stakeholders to understand requirements and drive successful solution adoption
We’re looking for people who have:
- Proven experience working with the SAP Plant Maintenance (PM) module
- Experience delivering SAP implementations, enhancements, or transformation programmes
- Strong hands-on knowledge of:
- Preventive Maintenance
- Breakdown / Corrective Maintenance
- Work Order Management
- Task Lists and Maintenance Plans
- Equipment and Functional Locations
- Experience gathering business requirements and translating them into functional SAP design and configuration
- Ability to operate effectively in both project and support environments
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders
Nice to have:
- Experience working with SAP S/4HANA
- Exposure to integration with other SAP modules such as MM, PP, or FI
- Experience working within manufacturing, utilities, or other asset-intensive sectors
