We are looking for an experienced security cleared Principal Systems Engineer to join a highly complex and fast-paced engineering programme delivering integrated system solutions. This is a key role for someone who thrives in technically challenging environments, enjoys solving complex integration problems, and can bring structure and clarity across multiple engineering disciplines.

You will lead Verification & Validation activities across the full system lifecycle, from test planning and system integration through to System Qualification Certification (SQC) and deployment, while also supporting wider systems engineering, design and documentation activities.

The Role

You will work across hardware, software, networking, infrastructure, and operational environments to ensure systems are fully integrated, tested, validated and ready for deployment.

This role requires someone who can operate at both high-level architectural and detailed implementation levels, while coordinating across SMEs, engineers, architects, operational teams, and stakeholders. You will become the central point for pulling together technical inputs, identifying dependencies and risks, and ensuring the final solution is technically robust and operationally viable.

Key skills

• Strong background in Systems Engineering.
• Proven experience in Verification & Validation (V&V).
• Experience developing and executing test plans and test cases.
• Experience with system integration and deployment testing.
• Strong understanding of: High-Level Designs (HLDs), Low-Level Designs (LLDs), Requirements engineering and Systems development lifecycles
• Ability to work across hardware, software, networking, infrastructure, and integrated systems.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Experience working in environments with constant change and evolving requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and manage: Test plans, Test cases, Verification procedures and Validation documentation
• Coordinate and oversee: System testing, Integration testing, qualification testing and deployment testing
• Support systems through testing and deployment phases.
• Support system design activities and technical documentation.
• Manage requirements engineering and traceability activities.
• Translate complex technical discussions into structured designs and deliverables.
