Contract Technical Lead (Java/Angular 6)

£440 p/d Inside IR35

London (2 days a week)

We are seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Technical Lead to join our growing technology team. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled technologist with a passion for modern engineering practices, cloud-native development, Agile delivery, and emerging AI-driven workflows.

You will play a key role in designing, developing, and delivering scalable enterprise solutions while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams across the full software development lifecycle.

Technical Skills

• Java
• Angular 6
• Microservices and API development
• REST API integration (OpenAPI preferred)
• Event-driven architecture
• Hands-on cloud experience across AWS and Azure, including serverless deployments
• Experience with AWS services and deployment approaches including: EC2, Pivotal Cloud Foundry (JVM), Docker, Lambda, Step Functions, DynamoDB and S3
• Experience with CI/CD pipeline tools such as Bamboo
• Knowledge of containerised deployments and orchestration technologies including Docker, Fargate and Kubernetes
• Strong SQL database development experience, including: SSIS and Cloud database deployment

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and delivery of scalable, secure, and high-performing technical solutions
• Work collaboratively within Agile delivery teams alongside Scrum Masters, Product Owners, Business Analysts, Developers, and Testers
• Contribute to architecture decisions, technical strategy, and engineering best practices
• Develop and maintain microservices, APIs, and cloud-native applications
• Support CI/CD implementation, release management, and deployment automation
• Produce technical specifications, user stories, and support documentation
• Champion quality through unit testing, behaviour-driven development, and test-driven development practices
• Drive continuous improvement and innovation, including the adoption of AI and Agentic Workflow approaches
