We are supporting a global organisation embarking on a major enterprise transformation programme and are seeking an experienced Head of Data to build and lead its data capability from the ground up.

This is a rare greenfield opportunity for a strategic yet hands-on data leader to shape enterprise-wide data strategy, governance, architecture and modernisation within a complex global environment undergoing significant ERP and process transformation.

The Role

As Head of Data, you will define and deliver the organisation’s data vision, establishing the foundations required to support enterprise reporting, analytics, AI readiness and long-term digital transformation initiatives.

You will work closely with senior stakeholders across Finance, Technology and Operations to create scalable data frameworks, improve data quality and enable data-driven decision-making across the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and implement enterprise-wide data strategy and governance frameworks
  • Establish data ownership, standards, controls and policies
  • Design and govern future-state data architecture
  • Lead data workstreams across a global ERP transformation programme
  • Oversee complex data migration activities from legacy environments
  • Enable integration across ERP, CRM and reporting platforms
  • Support the development of scalable reporting, analytics and AI capabilities
  • Drive data quality, consistency and transparency across multiple business functions
  • Build strong relationships with business and technology stakeholders globally

Experience Required

  • Proven experience building data strategy and governance functions from scratch
  • Strong background delivering data initiatives within large ERP transformation programmes
  • Experience operating within complex, legacy data environments
  • Strong understanding of modern data platforms, reporting and analytics ecosystems
  • Ability to balance strategic leadership with hands-on execution
  • Experience working within global, multi-entity organisations
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and business partnering skills

Desirable Experience

  • Microsoft transformation exposure
  • Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Power BI and AI-enabled data capabilities
  • Knowledge of finance process transformation environments (P2P, O2C, R2R)
