SEO Content Manager

Core responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Head of SEO to create joined-up SEO strategies across commercial and editorial pages, incorporating both content and technical considerations.
  • Optimise landing pages for SEO opportunities including metadata, on-page improvements, internal linking and keyword targeting.
  • Create and publish engaging, keyword-focused content that supports broader SEO strategy.
  • Refresh and optimise existing content to improve rankings, CTR and organic performance.
  • Edit, proofread and quality-check writers’ content to ensure accuracy, clarity and SEO alignment.
  • Conduct thorough keyword research and understand how search intent informs both content structure and technical requirements (e.g., crawl depth, page type, templates).
  • Review client sites for high-level technical blockers (indexation, internal linking, site speed, JavaScript rendering issues) and escalate to the technical SEO team as needed.
  • Support the Head of SEO during website migrations and new page builds , assisting with staging checks, content population and QA.
  • Confidently talk to clients in calls about how content and technical SEO work together to drive performance.
  • Monitor rankings, CTR and impressions for content pages and identify both content and technical opportunities.
  • Prepare and present regular performance reports with actionable recommendations.
  • Keep up-to-date with the latest SEO, content and technical best practices.

Skills
  • Strong written, verbal and client-facing communication skills.
  • Able to explain SEO concepts (content + technical) clearly and simply.
  • Comfortable discussing high-level technical SEO topics such as:
  • Indexing/crawlability,
  • Page templates,
  • Structured data,
  • Internal linking,
  • JavaScript rendering,
  • Redirects & canonicals.
  • Commercially focused and results-driven – motivated by performance uplift.
  • Excellent spelling, grammar, proofreading and editing skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Able to work closely with developers and technical SEOs, converting findings into clear actions.

Requirements
  • 3+ years’ experience in SEO across both content and technical fundamentals.
  • (Does not need to be a full technical SEO.)
  • Strong understanding of how site structure, internal linking and technical foundations impact content performance.
  • Experience supporting website migrations, redesigns or content re-platforming is highly desirable.
  • Keen to learn and develop further in technical SEO and content marketing.

Job Type & Salary

Full-time, Permanent

Hybrid: 1 day in office, 4 days from home

Salary: £30,000 - £40,000

Successful candidates may be asked to complete a short task.
