Job Title: Cloud Application Engineer (Mid–Senior Level)
Location: Kidlington or Central London (1 day per week travel to Oxfordshire site required)
Working Conditions: Hybrid – 3 days office / 2 days WFH

By combining electrochemistry, software, and data science , they deliver intelligent battery solutions across the full value chain - from automotive and energy storage to heavy-duty applications.
They are now seeking a Cloud Application Engineer to join their growing technical delivery team. This is a 90% technical, 10% customer-facing role focused on building and customising data pipelines , integrating battery analytics into customer frameworks, and collaborating closely with the product and cloud development teams.
Role Overview
You will act as the primary technical contact on customer-facing projects, translating requirements and providing technical support alongside technical specialists and the core cloud development team. The role involves building automated customer pipelines for battery analytics , customising the existing codebase for customer-specific orchestration frameworks, and turning raw data into actionable, business-relevant insights.
You’ll also contribute to the ongoing development of the Battery Intelligence Cloud Platform , helping to accelerate global electrification by improving the performance, safety, and reliability of batteries throughout their lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Integration of Battery Analytics:
- Build orchestration frameworks for battery algorithms to assess performance, lifetime, and safety.
- Enhance and adapt existing algorithms for customer-specific optimisation.
- Ensure scalability and robustness using both data-driven and physics-informed approaches.
Customer Technical Engagement:
- Translate customer requirements into scalable technical solutions.
- Validate automated outputs and support clients in interpreting analytical results.
- Build algorithms applicable across varied use cases and markets.
Key Skills & Experience
- Strong experience interfacing directly with customers.
- Background in data science , including statistical modelling, machine learning, or applied analytics.
- Proficiency in Python for data analysis, modelling, and cloud application development.
- Exposure to automotive systems, electrification, or battery applications .
- Additional knowledge of electrochemistry, power systems, energy storage, physics, or chemical engineering is advantageous but not essential.
