Graduate / Junior Embedded Software Engineer
TECHNE has been appointed as the exclusive technical talent partner for one of London's most exciting early-stage mobility companies. We're now searching for a Graduate / Junior Embedded Software Engineer to join their engineering team as they build cutting-edge IoT and vehicle-integrated technology.
This organisation is already working with some of the UK's most recognised logistics and mobility companies. Their platform is rapidly gaining traction and this is a rare opportunity to join early, learn directly from experienced embedded engineers, and contribute to technology shaping the future of urban transport and connected systems.
The Opportunity
As a Graduate / Junior Embedded Software Engineer, you'll join a small, highly technical team working on real embedded engineering challenges from day one. You'll receive strong mentorship from Engineers who have achieved and held high positions within the automotive world.
The team keeps communication open, engineering processes lean, and creates an environment where early-career engineers can grow quickly, experiment confidently, and build meaningful products with real-world impact.
What You'll Be Working On
You'll support the development of the company's next-generation embedded and IoT platform, including:
- Writing embedded C firmware for microcontrollers (e.g., STM32 or similar ARM Cortex devices)
- Supporting real-time data processing for sensors, connectivity modules, and vehicle telemetry
- Working with CAN bus, serial interfaces, and other communication protocols
- Assisting with board bring-up, flashing, debugging, and hardware testing
- Collaborating with hardware engineers on PCB-level considerations
- Contributing to tools and systems that integrate IoT devices with cloud services
- Helping design reliable, low-power embedded architectures for mobility solutions
You'll get real exposure to embedded systems that interface with hardware, sensors, and large-scale data systems - not just simulated projects.
What We're Looking For
- Degree in Embedded Systems, Electronics, Computer Engineering, Robotics, Mechatronics, or similar
- Some hands-on experience (projects, labs, internships) with microcontrollers or embedded C
- Interest in IoT, mobility, robotics, real-time systems, or low-level software
- Curiosity to learn beyond your comfort zone
- A methodical approach to debugging and problem-solving
- Interest in both software and the hardware it runs on
- Good fundamentals in C, embedded concepts, and electronics basics
And importantly - you don't need to meet every requirement.
If you're excited about embedded systems and have a good foundation, please apply.
Please note that this is a primarily onsite role based in the NW area.
