About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Technical Account Manager to join a growing technology business operating within the financial markets sector. This is a hands-on position that combines technical expertise, client relationship management, project delivery, and stakeholder coordination.
You will take ownership of a portfolio of enterprise clients, acting as their primary technical contact throughout the full customer lifecycle—from onboarding and implementation through to ongoing account management and technical consultancy. The ideal candidate will be equally comfortable discussing technical solutions with engineers as they are managing expectations with senior client stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Client Relationship Management
- Own and develop technical relationships with a portfolio of strategic clients.
- Act as the primary technical point of contact for all non-support related matters.
- Understand each client's business objectives, technical landscape, infrastructure, and operational requirements.
- Conduct regular client reviews and project status meetings.
- Build trusted relationships with both technical and business stakeholders.
Technical Account Ownership
- Manage client onboarding, implementation, and deployment activities.
- Coordinate software releases, upgrades, and technical changes.
- Gather business and technical requirements and translate them into actionable deliverables.
- Validate solutions prior to release, ensuring they meet agreed client requirements and acceptance criteria.
- Deliver demonstrations and training sessions for new functionality and platform enhancements.
Escalation & Incident Management
- Act as an escalation point for complex technical issues.
- Work closely with support and engineering teams to track and manage high-priority incidents.
- Ensure clients remain informed throughout the resolution process.
- Drive issues through to successful completion while maintaining strong client communication.
Project & Third-Party Coordination
- Coordinate delivery activities across internal teams and external partners.
- Manage dependencies, timelines, and stakeholder expectations throughout project lifecycles.
- Liaise with third-party vendors, infrastructure providers, and technical partners where required.
- Identify alternative solutions and manage delivery risks proactively.
Commercial & Business Support
- Support the management of client enhancement requests and development initiatives.
- Ensure client requirements are documented, prioritised, and tracked effectively.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders to facilitate successful project delivery and account growth.
Skills & Experience
Essential
- Experience in a Technical Account Manager, Technical Consultant, Client Services, Implementation, or similar customer-facing technical role.
- Strong stakeholder management and client communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple client relationships simultaneously.
- Experience gathering business requirements and defining acceptance criteria.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of client outcomes.
Technical Requirements
- Understanding of financial markets, trading, clearing, post-trade, or capital markets technology environments.
- Working knowledge of SQL and database concepts.
- Basic networking knowledge, including connectivity troubleshooting and network diagnostics.
- Experience supporting software deployments, upgrades, and technical implementations.
Desirable
- Knowledge of FIX Protocol or exchange connectivity.
- Experience working with ServiceNow, Jira, or similar ticketing platforms.
- Previous experience within fintech, capital markets, SaaS, or trading technology environments.
