The Apps Engineer brings AI-driven solution concepts to life by rapidly prototyping compelling Front End experiences and lightweight functional apps. They work collaboratively with AI engineers, data engineers, and UX/UI designers to demonstrate what good looks like in production-like mockups, helping clients visualise the value of AI and data products. This role is pivotal in turning abstract ideas into tangible, interactive demos that resonate with business and technical stakeholders alike.
Essential Skills:
- Full-stack or Front End engineering skills (React, Angular, or Flutter; Node.js or Python for Back End).
- Experience working with RESTful APIs, mock Servers, or AI microservices.
- Familiarity with AI/ML integration patterns (eg, inference APIs, chatbot SDKs, GenAI plugins).
- Strong grasp of data visualisation techniques (eg, D3.js, Chart.js, or Power BI Embedded).
- Agile mindset with ability to iterate quickly from low-fidelity to high-fidelity prototypes.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills - able to translate technical concepts into client-friendly experiences.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience in building GenAI-enabled front-ends (eg, chat-based interfaces, document summarisation, LLM wrappers).
- Familiarity with low-code platforms or AI prototyping tools (eg, Streamlit, Gradio, Bubble).
- Knowledge of security and compliance basics when building PoCs for regulated industries.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build lightweight web or mobile applications to showcase Data & AI use cases (eg, intelligent dashboards, chatbot interfaces, recommendation engines).
- Integrate Front End experiences with APIs and mock AI backends for demo purposes.
- Collaborate with UX/UI engineer to ensure visual polish and intuitive interaction design.
- Rapidly prototype and iterate solutions aligned with client-specific scenarios (eg, banking, insurance, automotive).
- Package and present demos in a way that supports pre-sales, innovation showcases, and co-creation workshops.
- Ensure scalability and reusability of prototypes for future client engagements.
They should be strong in:
- Front End: React (ideally with TypeScript), Next.js, Tailwind or Material UI - we want clean, modern UIs that feel intuitive
- Back End: Light-touch APIs using Node.js or Python (FastAPI or Flask), just enough to serve data and connect to models
- AI integration: Needs to be comfortable working with OpenAI/Azure OpenAI APIs, embedding LLMs or building agent-style demos (LangChain, Streamlit etc.)
- Data: Should know how to handle lightweight backends like Firebase, MongoDB, or just mock JSON Servers for quick builds
- Deployment: Able to share work easily via Vercel, Netlify, or Render - needs to be client-ready even if it's still version 0.1
Bonus if they have experience with mobile (Flutter or React Native), chatbot frameworks, or voice interfaces - anything that makes the demo more immersive or engaging.
