Job Title: Head of IT Vendor Management Office
Job Description
As an experienced IT Vendor Management Professional, you will be responsible for establishing structure around vendor management processes outside of procurement. Your primary objective will be to ensure value is delivered from existing vendors through effective management and governance and delivering high-value services from service providers. You will serve as a key partner in migrating external augmented resource contracts into internal teams and play a critical role in maximizing value from existing contracts, partnerships, and internal service providers.
Responsibilities- Establish a robust process in conjunction with procurement to ensure IT contracts are fit for purpose.
- Responsible for requirements and deliverables and supporting the onboarding of new contracts.
- Work closely with the Senior Manager - Special Projects to support the strategy for reducing reliance on third parties where there is high dependency, ensuring an aligned approach to migrate application support to internal teams.
- Guide the Senior Manager - Special Projects on best practices and on migrating large support and development contracts in-house over an 18-month timeframe.
- Evaluate existing complex contracts with multiple service variations to understand opportunities and limitations for achieving higher standards of output from third parties.
- Document systems, embed SLA's, improve programme management, and enhance QA.
- Set the strategy for third-party services, identifying which services should be provided externally.
- Establish partnership relationships with key vendors to ensure support and value are driven from existing contracts.
- Create the structure and oversee the Key Vendor Program, identifying key partners and managing costs and value from external providers.
- Work closely with the CFO to forecast future costs for Reinsurance IT.
- Proactively explore the landscape for emerging technologies in the Reinsurance space.
- Collaborate closely with the Head of Future Technologies to ensure a close understanding of business vision and how future technologies and service providers will play a role.
- Expertise in vendor management and service provider management.
- Ability to establish and manage vendor partnerships and programmes.
- Strong understanding of IT contracts and procurement processes.
- Proficiency in evaluating complex contracts and identifying value opportunities.
- Strategic thinking to set and implement third-party service strategies.
- Experience in migrating external resource contracts into internal teams.
- Ability to work collaboratively with senior leadership and cross-functional teams.
- Familiarity with emerging technologies in the Reinsurance space.
