Overview
Our Client is delivering a major network services programme for the Education Authority Northern Ireland (EANI), supporting schools across the region. Following a successful £107m contract extension through to March 2027, the programme continues to modernise network infrastructure across hundreds of educational sites.
Having completed core network switch upgrades (moving to Cisco), the programme is now focused on:
Access switch replacement (currently ~45% complete)
Large-scale replacement of 2,250 fixed-line Routers (Huawei to Cisco)
To support this phase, we are seeking a Project Scheduler/Coordinator to manage field activity and ensure smooth execution across multiple school sites.
Role Purpose
The Project Scheduler/Coordinator will play a key role in coordinating deployment activity across a distributed field engineering team. This role is heavily focused on scheduling, administration, and stakeholder coordination to ensure engineers are fully equipped and site visits run efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
Scheduling & Coordination
Plan and schedule site visits for field engineers across multiple school locations
Coordinate daily and weekly deployment activities to align with project timelines
Act as the central point of contact for field engineers on scheduling queries
Field Support & Logistics
Liaise with logistics teams to ensure engineers receive required equipment and kits ahead of site visits
Ensure readiness for deployments, including access arrangements and materials availability
Administration & Documentation
Collect and manage engineer sign-off sheets following site visits
Upload and maintain documentation on SharePoint
Track and process timesheets for field engineers
Maintain accurate project records and schedules
Stakeholder Communication
Communicate effectively with internal teams including engineering, logistics, and project management
Provide updates on scheduling progress, risks, and issues
Ensure clear and professional written communication across all stakeholders
Skills & Experience Required
Essential
Proven Experience in a Project Coordinator/Scheduler/PMO support role
Experience coordinating field-based engineering teams
Strong organisational and administrative skills (high attention to detail)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Experience managing documentation (eg SharePoint, timesheets, reporting)
Ability to manage multiple schedules and priorities simultaneously
Desirable
Experience working on network or IT infrastructure projects
Understanding of network deployments (eg Cisco environments)
Experience working within education environments or schools programmes
Familiarity with EANI or similar public sector organisations
