Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Scala Engineer to join a newly formed team dedicated to transitioning a set of premium services into SAS. The ideal candidate will have strong proficiency in Scala and some experience with React, which is desirable. This is an exciting opportunity to work on significant projects within the public sector.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the team to transition premium services into SAS.
• Utilise your expertise in Scala for Back End development.
• Contribute to Front End development using React, Redux, and Typescript.
• Employ Material UI, Storybook, and Jest for Front End enhancements.
• Work with Scala.js and the Play framework for development tasks.
• Utilise Postgres and MongoDB for database management.
• Implement DevOps practices using Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in Scala and the Play framework.
• Experience with Front End technologies such as React, Redux, and Typescript.
• Familiarity with Material UI, Storybook, and Jest.
• Knowledge of Back End technologies including Apache Pekko and Mockito.
• Experience with databases like Postgres and MongoDB.
• Understanding of DevOps tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with Home Office or public sector delivery is advantageous.
• Familiarity with Scala.js is a plus.
