Data & Operations Technician Apprentice

Role
As a Data & Operations Technician Apprentice, you will support the day-to-day operations of the business across order fulfilment and logistics functions. You will work with customer, operational and logistics data to ensure records are accurate, orders are processed efficiently and customers receive excellent service.
This is an excellent opportunity to develop practical data skills while gaining experience in a busy operational environment. You will learn how business data is captured, maintained and used to support decision-making, customer service and operational performance.
Duties will include:
- Processing incoming customer orders and equipment.
- Entering, maintaining and validating customer and operational data within company systems.
- Booking customer equipment onto company databases and management systems.
- Maintaining accurate customer records and ensuring data quality standards are met.
- Monitoring data for discrepancies and supporting corrective actions where required.
- Using business systems to track customer orders and equipment throughout the process.
- Supporting the management of customer orders from receipt through to dispatch.
- Assisting with customer enquiries and providing a high level of customer service.
- Working collaboratively with colleagues across logistics, laboratory and sales teams.
- Receiving, checking and processing customer equipment.
Supporting shipping and dispatch activities. - Assisting with import and export administration and customs documentation.
- Liaising with logistics providers regarding collections and deliveries.
Supporting purchasing and procurement administration. - Maintaining operational records, documentation and compliance information.
- Supporting health and safety and facilities administration activities.
- Contributing to continuous improvement projects and process efficiencies.
Training
Training will be delivered through a combination of workplace learning and regular online sessions with The S&A Academy. The apprentice will receive dedicated support from an experienced trainer throughout the programme and will be given off-the-job training time to complete apprenticeship activities, assignments and projects. Training sessions will typically take place remotely, alongside practical learning within the workplace, allowing the apprentice to apply their knowledge and skills directly to their role.
Upon successful completion of the Level 3 Data Technician Apprenticeship, there may be an opportunity to secure a permanent position within Testo Industrial Services. The successful apprentice could progress into roles such as Data Technician, Operations Administrator, Logistics Coordinator, Customer Service Administrator or Order Fulfilment Administrator, with opportunities to further develop specialist skills and undertake additional training and qualifications.
