Location: UK / Europe

Employment Type: Contract

Sector: Data Centres, AI Infrastructure, GPU Cluster Deployment

Start: ASAP / project dependent

We’re looking for top-tier Cable Technicians to support high-density AI / GPU deployment works within a data centre environment.

This is not basic cabling. We need technicians who are confident working in white space environments, can read from cut sheets, follow patching schedules accurately, install transceivers, rack and stack hardware, and dress fibre and copper to a clean, client-ready standard.

You’ll be supporting the physical deployment of critical AI / GPU infrastructure, covering rack and stack, pinstripe dressing, fibre and copper patching, transceiver installation, testing, labelling and structured cabling works.

What you’ll be doing

  • Supporting AI / GPU cluster deployment works within data centre environments
  • Rack and stack of servers, switches, storage, GPU infrastructure and associated hardware
  • Installing transceivers, including SFP, QSFP, DAC, AOC and other optical modules
  • Carrying out high-density fibre and copper patching across racks, cabinets and network equipment
  • Pinstripe dressing fibre and copper to a clean, consistent and client-ready standard
  • Reading and working accurately from cut sheets, cable schedules, patching plans and rack elevations
  • Installing, routing, dressing, labelling and managing fibre and copper cabling
  • Working with OM4, singlemode fibre, MPO / MTP, LC and high-density fibre assemblies
  • Testing fibre and copper links using relevant test equipment
  • Fault-finding, tracing and remediating fibre and copper connectivity issues
  • Working to strict data centre standards around routing, bend radius, labelling and presentation
  • Updating documentation and escalating any cut sheet, labelling or routing discrepancies

What we’re looking for

  • Strong data centre cabling experience, ideally within hyperscale, colocation, enterprise, AI or HPC environments
  • Excellent fibre and copper dressing standards, including pinstripe dressing
  • Confident reading cut sheets, patching schedules, rack elevations and technical drawings
  • Hands-on rack and stack experience across servers, switches, storage and network hardware
  • Experience installing and handling transceivers, optical modules and high-density network equipment
  • Strong fibre patching, copper patching, structured cabling and cable management experience
  • Good understanding of fibre types, connectors, routing standards and bend radius requirements
  • Experience testing fibre and copper links, including OTDR, light source / power meter or Fluke testing
  • Strong attention to detail around labelling, patching, port mapping and documentation
  • Ability to work quickly without sacrificing quality, accuracy or presentation
  • Comfortable working in clean, controlled, live data centre environments

Nice to have

  • Previous AI, GPU, HPC or high-density compute deployment experience
  • Experience with NVIDIA or similar GPU infrastructure deployments
  • Exposure to spine-leaf architectures and high-volume switch-to-server connectivity
  • Experience with cable remediation, port mapping and network migration works
  • Exposure to hyperscale deployment standards and client-side quality expectations
  • Ability to lead small teams or support less experienced technicians on site
