Datacenter Manager

Role: Data Centre Manager – Multi-Site (Greater London Region)

Location: Greater London / South East (multi-site travel)

Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: Competitive + package

We’re working with a growing operator within the data centre and critical infrastructure space, delivering and managing high-spec environments across multiple live sites in and around the London region.

As part of that growth, they’re looking to bring in a Data Centre Manager to take ownership of day-to-day operations across a small cluster of sites - ensuring everything runs smoothly from both an engineering and infrastructure perspective.

This isn’t just a facilities role. They’re looking for someone who understands the full data centre ecosystem - from M&E through to the white space.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Taking full operational ownership across multiple live data centre sites
  • Managing on-site engineering teams and specialist subcontractors
  • Overseeing all M&E systems including power, cooling, UPS, generators and associated infrastructure
  • Acting as the point of escalation for any critical incidents or technical issues
  • Driving best practice across HSE, compliance and operational procedures
  • Managing planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive works
  • Supporting project delivery across live environments (moves, adds, changes, upgrades)
  • Working closely with clients and internal stakeholders to ensure service levels are met

Where this role stands out:

This role goes beyond traditional facilities management. You’ll also be responsible for the physical IT infrastructure within the white space, including:

  • Structured cabling systems (copper & fibre)
  • Rack and stack environments
  • Containment, patching and connectivity standards
  • Coordination of installs, migrations and decommissioning activities

You’ll need to be comfortable bridging the gap between facilities, IT infrastructure and project delivery.

What they’re looking for:

  • Proven experience managing operations within live data centre environments
  • Strong understanding of M&E systems within critical environments
  • Solid exposure to structured cabling, fibre, and white space infrastructure
  • Experience managing multiple sites or large-scale facilities
  • Ability to coordinate subcontractors and internal teams across concurrent activities
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  • A proactive mindset

Ideal background:

  • Data centre operations / facilities management
  • Critical environments (mission-critical, banking, telecoms, hyperscale, colo)
  • Structured cabling or connectivity exposure alongside M&E
  • Experience working in live, customer-facing environments
