Information Technology Designer

Role: Senior ICT Design Engineer – Data Centre Connectivity

Location: Farringdon, London (on-site)

Salary: £75,000 - £85,000 + benefits

We are working with a leading global connectivity integrator specialising in structured cabling, data centre infrastructure and critical network environments.

With over 30 years of experience delivering large-scale connectivity projects worldwide, the business supports hyperscale, enterprise and financial clients with design, build, deployment and managed services across mission-critical environments.

Due to continued growth, they are now seeking a Senior ICT Design Engineer to lead technical design and estimation activities across key strategic accounts.

This role will play a critical part in supporting both pre-sales and post-contract delivery, ensuring high-quality design outputs and accurate cost submissions across complex data centre and ICT infrastructure projects.

What you’ll be doing

• Developing structured cabling and ICT infrastructure designs for large-scale data centre environments
• Producing detailed technical proposals, cost submissions and Bills of Materials
• Supporting tender responses and technical client proposals
• Working closely with sales, commercial and operations teams during pre-construction phases
• Preparing design deliverables including general arrangement drawings, rack layouts, schematics and density plans
• Coordinating design updates, variations and technical revisions during project delivery
• Attending design meetings with clients, consultants and project stakeholders
• Ensuring design outputs meet industry standards and client specifications
• Supporting and mentoring junior design engineers where required

What we’re looking for

• Strong experience designing structured cabling and ICT infrastructure solutions
• Experience delivering projects within hyperscale data centres or large enterprise environments
• Ability to develop accurate technical designs and cost proposals
• Experience preparing BoMs, tender submissions and technical documentation
• Strong stakeholder communication skills
• Comfortable managing multiple design packages simultaneously

Preferred experience

• Experience working with hyperscale data centre clients
• Industry certifications such as RCDD, CNIDP or CDCP
• Manufacturer accreditations within structured cabling systems
