Project Manager – Structured Cabling (Data Centres)

We’re working with a specialist design and build connectivity solutions company who deliver high-quality infrastructure projects across the data centre sector.
As a Project Manager, you’ll be responsible for overseeing structured cabling works from planning through to delivery ensuring that quality, timescales, and budgets are met.
Typical project scopes include cross-connects, backbone fibre installations, rack deployments, containment, and testing with a focus on delivering structured cabling packages to the highest standards in live data centre environments.
You’ll manage engineering teams on-site, coordinate suppliers, attend client meetings, and maintain full control of the project schedule. Most work will be based around London, but occasional UK travel is expected.
Key responsibilities:
- Deliver structured cabling projects across live data centre environments
- Oversee installations such as cross-connects, copper/fibre cabling, and backbone fibre runs
- Manage rack builds, connectivity layouts, patching, and related activities
- Coordinate project phases from kickoff to close-out, ensuring on-time delivery
- Act as the key contact for clients, site teams, and internal delivery staff
- Schedule resources, manage materials, subcontractors, and site activities
- Monitor budgets, timescales, and deliverables with a focus on quality
- Ensure H&S compliance and uphold high site standards
- Provide regular progress reports, schedules, and documentation
What we’re looking for:
- Proven experience delivering structured cabling projects (Cat6/6A, OM3/OM4 fibre, etc.)
- Hands-on knowledge of cross-connects, backbone fibre, and rack infrastructure
- Previous experience working in live data centre environments
- Strong coordination and communication skills
- Comfortable managing multiple projects with frequent travel to sites
- Confident reporting project updates, managing client expectations, and directing site teams
- Industry-relevant certifications (e.g. CNIT, CNID, CTPM, RCDD, or vendor-specific training) are preferred
- ECS/CSCS or similar site safety qualifications (desirable)
- Formal project management training (e.g. PRINCE2, PMP) is a plus but not required
