We are looking for a skilled Security Engineer to join our Enterprise Services team. The engineer will be involved in the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of a range of security systems, including CCTV, Access Control, and Intercom, and may also work on structured cabling and network infrastructure that supports these systems. A strong understanding of IP networking as it relates to security systems is essential.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
- Install, commission, and maintain Access Control and Intercom systems.
- Install, commission, and maintain CCTV systems.
- Install and test structured cabling systems.
- Interpret and follow schematics, drawings, and technical proposals.
- Complete work-related documentation accurately and promptly, including test results, commissioning information, and O&M records.
- Maintain the highest quality of workmanship and adhere to health and safety standards.
- Interface with other systems and subcontractors, including Building Intelligence, Fire, and Intruder Alarm systems.
- Self-audit own work and support other business areas as required.
Experience/Skills:
- Proven knowledge of Access Control, Intercom, and CCTV installation and commissioning.
- Experience with structured cabling systems.
- Understanding of interfacing between Access Control, CCTV, and life safety systems.
- Knowledge of IP networking and its relation to IP-based security systems.
- Basic electrical knowledge (measuring voltage, current).
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
- IT competency and familiarity with security system standards.
- Flexibility in work location and hours.
- UK Driving Licence, CSCS / ECS Card.
Desirable Experience/Skills:
- Industry-recognised certifications or experience in Access Control and CCTV systems.
- Design experience for security systems and intelligent building technologies (CCTV, lighting, HVAC, energy management).
- Advanced knowledge of IP networking, including switching, routing, and wireless.
- Experience working to NACOSS or NSI Gold Standards.
