IT Apprenticeship

As part of your role you will be supporting all staff to ensure that they have the equipment, resources and knowledge to undertake their role within the school successfully, and exciting and varied role.

Role

  • Support for the school to ensure that the school’s ICT Services are successfully in place
  • Support for the curriculum to ensure that all stakeholders have access to the necessary hardware and software to enhance their teaching and learning
  • Support for all staff to ensure that they have the equipment, resources and knowledge to undertake their role within the school successfully
  • Support for all students to enable them to access the curriculum regardless of ability
  • Support for the IT Systems Manager

The role will also include providing face to face support in a calm and professional manner, being able to self-manage workload and prioritise.

Main duties and responsibilities:

  • Monitor the school’s IT helpdesk, ensuring that all jobs are logged, and all assigned work orders are prioritised and dealt with in a timely manner, whist maintaining good communication with users
  • Provide basic technical support to staff, students and visitors to the school, either in person or using email, phone or remote assistance tools
  • Install and maintain computers, laptops, mobile devices and printers
  • Keep user accounts, email accounts, address books and distribution groups up to date
  • Monitor and update virus and malware software

  • Level 3 Information Communication Technician Apprenticeship

  • 6 hours of dedicated training time every week.
  • Possible full time permanent position upon completion of the apprenticeship.

About the Employer

THE DUSTON EDUCATION TRUST
As an IT Apprentice, you’ll be working closely with IT Technicians to support the ICT Systems Manager in providing a safe, effective and reliable IT environment for the schools large and varied user base, keeping the school at the forefront of information technology. We’re looking for the apprentice to develop in the role, so that in time, they will become the first point of contact for all incoming issues to the Helpdesk for 1st line support.
