IT Service Desk Technician

Job Description

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a proactive IT Service Desk Technician to join a growing organisation within a fast-paced environment. This role is based within a busy IT function, providing essential support across a large, multi-site operation.About the RoleAs part of a dedicated incident team, you will deliver 1st and 2nd line IT support, primarily focusing on EPOS systems and associated technologies. You will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of IT services across the business, delivering a high standard of technical support to end users.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide comprehensive IT support to end users within a retail or multi-site environmentLog, monitor and respond to service requests across multiple communication channelsEscalate complex or high-priority issues to internal and external teams in line with proceduresSupport EPOS systems, including associated hardware, software and network infrastructureDiagnose and resolve issues relating to till peripherals such as printers, scanners and payment devices (PEDs)Follow up on incidents to ensure successful resolution and user satisfactionDeliver a customer-focused support service to both internal users and external partnersMaintain accurate records of incidents and resolutionsAssist with ad-hoc tasks as required by senior IT team membersStay up to date with new technologies and systems implemented within the businessPerson SpecificationMinimum of 1 years experience in an IT support rolePrevious experience in a customer-facing positionBasic understanding of network infrastructure (LAN/WAN) and troubleshooting techniquesGood knowledge of general IT concepts and terminologyStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsReliable, flexible and able to work effectively within a team environmentWhats on OfferCompetitive salaryPension schemeEmployee benefits package, including discounts and recognition schemesCycle to work schemeAdditional InformationPermanent, full-time positionWorking hours to be discussed at interviewBased in Plymouth, DevonIf you are currently seeking a new challenge and feel you would be a good fit, then please submit an up to date CV by using the apply button below.
