Business Administrator Apprentice

Provide administrative support to the TLET Central Team and its various departments while developing the skills needed for a career in education administration.

Role

  • Answer telephone calls, take messages, welcome visitors and direct them to the appropriate member of staff
  • Respond to emails or pass them to the relevant person
  • Photocopy, scan, print and file documents; sort and distribute incoming post and prepare outgoing post
  • Keep paper and electronic filing systems organised and up to date, and enter information accurately onto Trust systems
  • Assist with ordering stationery and office supplies
  • Help prepare meeting rooms and refreshments when required, and support meetings, events and administrative tasks as competence develops
  • Support staff with administrative tasks and produce accurate letters, documents, records, correspondence and spreadsheets using Microsoft Office
  • Keep the office tidy and well organised
  • Use IT systems and handle data effectively, with exposure to relevant financial processes as competence develops
  • Suggest improvements to business processes and support problem-solving activities as skills and confidence develop
  • Communicate professionally, maintain accurate information and files, and demonstrate teamwork and collaborative working
  • Follow Trust policies, including confidentiality, data protection and safeguarding processes
  • Carry out any other reasonable administrative duties requested by the line manager

Training

  • Progression may include senior administration roles, business support, HR, school office leadership or a Level 4 School Business Manager apprenticeship
